Another KI in the books and what a great event it was!
First off, many thanks to Bill and Pam for their leadership and unending commitment to the best VW club around.
A special thanks to Marla and Mike who have taken on leaderhip roles in LEAKOIL and worked tirelessly with Bill behind the scenes to get many aspects of the event planned and executed.
There is a tremendous amount of work that so many need to be recognized for. Every volunteer was important. Whether it was sweeping up or getting firewoood to keep the fire alive, everyone deserves praise. All those who donated items to the raffle, especially those like Maggie, the Levine's and Ed that personally made items to be sold should be thanked by all. Craig getting the shirts/cups printed and John and Ed working the tickets for the raffles. Chuck wasn't even there, but he made sure his buses and scooters as well as the hot dog roller and of coarse the shrimp made an appearance. The Cunninghams (Dave and Denise) for working with the kids and giving us an early taste of Haloween.
I'm sure Bill has the complete list, but I think its really great how so many of you all helped make this a wonderful family event.
It was also great to see some folks come a great distance. Like Randy from Ky. and guys from other clubs in Indiana and Michigan and the OVT (shout out Frank Bifath), the Mulloy's from Pa. and Steve from the Toledo Club. And as always, Ted Chaney from COVVC.
So how about some pics?
It was lonely coming over Saturday.
There's always a great sense of anticipation approaching the island.
The sponsor board was a great addition. We appreciate their support!
Chuck's DC was a convenient taxi all weekend.
Deadhead (Jeff) and his dad (Jim) both got their buses running and made it.
Deadhead has his usual great Haloween display.
Where does Gregg find these gems?????
This campsite needs no introduction to veteran LEAKOILERS.
Some of the usual suspects.
Lots of buses this year.
I'm really starting to LOVE this color.
Was it me? Or was this one of the coolest, best behaved dogs ever?
Thank God this pic is blurry!
Speech!!!!
A new singing group "The "three smiles and frown"
How long before this is for sale?
This is awesome!
Just like Speedway!!!
Hey bro! Read the sign!
Sunday breakfast
The raffle.
Jack, the raffle guard dog and director of operations
Vermillion Bob always comes up with some awesome raffle items.
I think Phylis and Stan had something to do with these.
Rumor that Brandon and Lauren were in a bidding war was unfounded. Brandon ended up with it, but Lauren is the one smiling!

The guy on the left looks like (Jim? I forget his name) from New York with the nice brown Vanagon? Did he get the Long Distance Award?

Re: Kelley's Island Photos 2015
First, a big thanks to all who pulled volunteer duty this weekend, from check in to dishwashing to manning the tables, to selling merchandise, and everything in between. Your help is truly appreciated. It's member like you that make events like these run as smoothly as they do.
Another big thanks to all the members who purchased shirts, bid on items at auction, participated in the Chinese Auction, and/or bought 50/50 tickets. Proceeds from such things go a LONG way to keeping things afloat, and remaining a dues free club.
The winners for this year's Chinese auctions were (in no particular order):
$30 treatland gift card: Josh Snyder
$20 Der Braumeister Gift certificate : Phylis Levine
$50 Cip 1 gift certificate: Mike Wharton ( he won both $25s)
Free weekend at Mohican Misadventures: Gail Firment
$25 West Coast Metric gift certificate 1: Ken Krohl
$25 West Coast Metric gift certificate 2 : Kirk Berhent
The winning number for the 50/50 raffle was 9081497, which has thus far gone unclaimed. If this is your number you have 30 days to contact Bill, with proof (ticket), and claim your money. The payout this year is $150. If nobody claims the prize money, it will get donated into the hotdog fund for next year.
I never got the final number for total hotdogs consumed, but at last count it was around 400, and was expected to be nearer 500. You guys really like the wieners. All of your cardiologists are very disappointed in you. Which is kinda ironic that the guy who owns the hot dog machine decided to take this year off, so he could attend the next 30 Kombis on Kelley's.
We still don't have the official tally on attendance, but it looked as though there were between 65-70 buses total. Once I finish uploading photos i will get them posted. I have every campsite as of 7:00am Saturday morning.
The moped crew showed up in full force this year, and got a little love at the auction this year. It's always great to see you guys take off on your cruise. It's like a swarm of angry bees. It was probably nice having the extra room in the back of that yellow DC to haul more mopeds.
I have a bunch of gopro footage, and also saw some other gopros out there, Marla, Bret and Jason Crawford. I will put my stuff in a drop box folder, PM me if you want access, maybe we can all swap footage.
Once again thanks to everyone who showed up, volunteered and/or participated. You made this year's Kelley's Island trip one of the best.

Re: Kelley's Island Photos 2015
Final count was 75 buses. Not bad considering the Friday forecast of 80% chance of rain, which never happened. Despite a number of regulars who could not make it this year, their numbers were more than offset by the first timers.
Here's just a few pics.
doesn't get much better than this Once again, awesome pot luck the moped army assembling to terrorizes the Island This young man operating the dishwasher,David and Denise's nephew,Tristan, has already been offered a job as a camp councilor by 4H,when he is old enough.
