The car I learned to drive on LIVES!!!

Post by 21window »

Well I recently negotiated a deal to buy the very first car I learned to drive on from my dad.
It was a 63 Porsche 356 that was rolled and totaled when it was around 6 months old. My dad cut the body off
and made it in to a dune buggy for us kids. We proceeded to beat the living crap out of that thing in the back yard for many years.

Anyway it's mine now. Just needs a little love... :o  :o

Got the engine to turn over tonight so that's one small step.

Will be taking the plasma cutter to it shortly.

Yeah I'm afraid the plan is to just attempt to make the engine run first, then steal all the good bits off of the car and throw the rest away.
Kinda sad, but at least I have the pics for memories.

Here's the only old one I know of right now. Hanging in my house.

See the A pillar by my head (with a bit more hair). That's the old buggy.

sucks you gotta cut it up...but those parts are like GOLD to a porsche guy.

for real though I think id have to at least keep the top skin of the front and put some sorta junk 356 hood on it and hang the whole thing on the garage wall
