I am dying to know what the problem was and how you figured it out.

Can you share?

As Aaron pointed out, Dale is the one who fixed it. I did a good job of getting in the way!

It was cranking slowly because of a bad battery ground so Dale cleaned that and added a supplemental ground directly to the engine block in addition to the normal battery ground. Also the screw holding the ground for the double relay on the firewall worked itself loose and we were not getting a good ground there. There was also a distributor problem. Timing was adjusted, oil changed and it fired right up. Runs strong.

It's probably going to need another AFM.

Interesting it had been sitting for a few months and all 4 wheels locked up. We had to pull both rear drums at Dales and replace one of the shoes and free up the adjusters. Rolling now, but needs some work.

Yes it is usually something fairly easy like that. More VWs have been towed for bad electrical connection than everything else combined.

Actually not a bad looking bus. I have always liked the sliding center windows.

I don't know how old the rubber brake lines are on there, but on my "new bus" (and I will be updating my thread shortly) I am going to be using these for the hoses....
