KEN KROL

Post by PAUL »

I’ve sad news. Kenny Krol passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 with his wife Carolyn and son Mark at his side. Kenny was a long time and active member of LeakOil as well as my friend for 60 years. We’ll always remember his warm smile and genuine greetings at gatherings, his humor and passion for VW Buses. He was a good person, a smart man, an engineer by trade and a mechanic at heart. Ken was wearing a LeakOil T-Shirt when he made the final journey. He'll be missed. Paul Burke

Ken was so full of information and story's. The legacy of the red single cab he kept on the road and restored was amazing. The story's he had were truly amazing. Even though he would bring up the time he met Jay Leno when he had a chance and if you were ever at Mister road he would show you the pick . I have so many great memories wrenching in his shop on the Vegas bus ,the single cab ,and even his son's truck or moped. He was so proud of how original he kept his bus's . Even his baysingle cab he would fill me in on how he fixed it even though it was his beater he would take out back and drive through the field like a teenager . He was always willing to help where he could. I will miss a great friend dearly. He was the man I trusted to drive my wife to our wedding in that beautiful single cab and know he could deliver her safely.

I was very sad to hear the news about Kenny. He was always such a sweet, kind man. I loved listening to his stories by a campfire. He loved telling them.

He had such a great impact on our little VW community. I know I will always remember him fondly.

This photo was from an early Spring campout at Findley State Park in 2021.

Ken is a good man. I agree with all the previous posts.
I remember the first time I even knew of a Ken Krol we were down at the Columbus show many many years ago and Barbara ran into him and he said he was from Lorrain. Barb was so excited to meet somebody in Columbus who is actually from Lorrain County.Ever since then We’ve come to know Ken as the wonderful man that he is. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn and the rest of their family. I know he will be missed so sad.

As everyone here has noted, Ken was "kind man, a smart man, a great man, a wonderful man, a sweet man, willing to help, humorous" and more. A good friend we will all miss.

I think of him as an example of how to grow old and stay young.

(Thanks for the photos, Kirk and Marla.)
