The young man that is doing the metal work for me lost his job and is wanting to work on VW's full time . He is going to be finished with all the metal work this weekend . Under one week turn around . He is very reasonable and I got to see the work that he has done on his 61' mango , which looks really good . if anyone needs some help on there project I would recomend talking to David . PM me and I will give you his info . Im going to have him fix some stuff on my 72' next .Hey Ken , do you think I could barrow your hoops for a couple hours ? David is going to fabricate some for me with the use of a template . I should have some pics of the work tomorrow . He has been working away and slacking on the pics ( thats cool with me ) . I ordered new rubber today and Im going to start scheduling my paint guy .Its going to be either Neptune blue or Velvet green . I still have to design the logo . Maybe Brett can help me out ;)

Pat,
Yes you can use my hoops as a pattern. There are also 2 end caps and a center support. There is a guy in Utah that makes the tarp from original patterns. It is a little pricey, I paid $2,000 ten years ago, but the quality is excellent.

Thank you Ken, you the man! My friend has a industrial sewing machine and We are going to try to make one, but that is a option for sure.

David is sending me some this evening. Soon as I get them. Ken, I was thinking of asking you months ago if you would part with yours but I knew there was no way

Pat,
This may give you some ideas for making your bows and canvas cover. Here is a set of wooden bows that I made for the 68 SC.
I also made a set of wooden legs that bolt to the truck bed. You can make them any height to suit your taste/needs. I used my original bows as a pattern so when you put the tarp on it looks just like the original from the outside.

Just an idea.
