People tell those kind of stories all the time, but it never happens

6. Fix reserve tap...
lol
Took it out because it was fugged up. Bypassed it, but I think I will be putting a new one back in so I dont have to carry around a pencil and paper.

Spare 1 Gallon can will also be added.

If you still have it it only takes about 20 minutes to R&R. The new ones sold are backwards, cable out is normal and cable in is reserve.
Supposedly the 356 tap parts that are made of cork last longer with our recent crappy oxygenated fuel.

Ted is 100% right. He walked me through the rebuild process on my '59 after he noticed I had some beetle fuel valves in my stash and I couldn't identify the correct bus version. I doucmented the process on the old site, but I don't think it's available any longer. I was able to get mine to work right because WW still sold rebuild kits for the bus version at that time. If you have a bus valve, you may be able to rebuild it so "in" is normal and "out" is reserve, but you have to take it apart and see what's damaged or missing. Here's the replacement one from WW http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/Detai ... 211209021E and here are some of the parts that are usually bad that you can still buy. http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/Detai ... 111209113A

Mine was just packed tight full of rust , but was able to get it clean and flowing, but the short tube broke off. With the screen over top it shouldn't be an issue.

I was unaware that the OEM was pull for reserve. Thanks! Now I wont mind putting it back in.

One would think that if you were going to make a replacement why would you make it in reverse??!! What would be the reason for that?
I have a WW one and I don't use it because I don't want to have the knob pulled out all the time!
My reserve is a extra gallon of gas I carry in the bus.

They are for Bugs, you can pull the tubes and swap them and all is good.
