This turned out to be one fussy bus!
at first key, fuel pump leaked . Good thing Chuck had a new one at hand

since it would not start, the double relay was swapped to no avail

then the ECU. same thing, no go. Turned out to be a ground wire.

Chuck also swapped several air boxes to test different air flow sensors. Finally, success!

Chuck and the crew made good on the promise to get the camper running in time for the Mohican Misadventures! Thank you again LEAKOIL!

Also, in the process, the bus got a new name: The Big Easy - since the port of entry was New Orleans.

Very entertaining write up Villy. Glad the Big Easy is up and running mostly proper. Look forward to seeing it at more events.

And who better than you to be designated beer guy?

Although this is my engine build thread, I am gonna pretend that it's for everything.
In an effort to make my bus less ratty for Oktoberfest, I decided to try my hand at bodywork.
This huge bondo crack hides a water pocket. My bus is a camel.

Bondo was 1/2"-3/4" thick in some areas. Rad!

I had obscene rust bubbles in other areas, forgot to take before pics

I will have Carlos replace the rusted metal under the windshield, and for now I will cover it again with black tape - or maybe a mac and cheese print for a change. Note to myself: pester Mike enough to teach me how to weld so I can replace bad metal myself, instead of ghettoing it with bondo.

good thing I can do drywall. Did not have a long block so I used a 16" taping blade to try and spread evenly and minimize sanding

Armstrong Paint Supply scanned the color and matched it in spray can form. Fail.

I also ran out of paint

The end result: the sides look infinitely better, but because of the color mismatch, the bus is still ratty, just on another level. Win.
