The diagram that came with the new harness (Wiring Works) matches with the numbers on the remote relay and with the colors of old wires. (I cut the wires on all the switches and relays leaving an inch so I could see what color went where). The problem is with the flasher relay (I think). My relay shows one pin to be "S54" and the other "+15". The diagram shows three pins and they are supposed to be "49+" and "KBL" and "49A" or X P and L. My dad who has been into ham radios for 60 plus years is going to come over and try and help me sort it out, hopefully this week. I'm itching to drive it now that I am so close!

The flasher can you need has 4 terminals - 31 This is the ground, KBL or K This is switched ground to indicator in speedo, +49 or + this is power in and 49a or S this is flash output. I get them from 1970 bays. The Stock falsher relay has 2 sets of contacts in it, one triggers the exterior lights with the bi-metal switch and the other triggers the dash indicator. The dash indicator is hot all the time and only lights when the ground circut throught the flasher closes. The stock can gets it ground through the mounting stud on the body of the can.

Hope this helps.

Toolbox, is the relay you are talking about 12v? If so, would it work on 6v?

Bob, I just re-read my reply to you. What I should have said was that my bus came with the 2 pin flasher relay and 4 pin remote relay. I wasn't doubting you on needing the 9 pin relay.

The bay units are 12V and will not work with 6V. I would use the old relays and falsher can if they worked in the bus before the new harness was installed. Make sure the relay and flasher can get good grounds, I would run a ground wire to each from a known good ground just to be safe.

I have yet needed to replace a harness on any of the vehicles I have owned over the years. I have had to do some major repairs , but I saved harnesses for cars i scrapped out and can use the correct color/size wire for the repairs.

The Westy left the garage today under its own power. First time I've driven it in the 18 months I've owned it and then just out into the driveway. I need to put the rear bumper on and adjust the clutch and install new shocks and then its out for a spin around the block - maybe this weekend! Still don't have the turn signals and flashers figured out.

Bob,

After doing some research and talking with Ronnie from Bustoration, I went with the stock Sachs/Boge shocks.

I put new shocks on my 66 Westy a few years ago and went the same route. I personally like the ride and feel of the stock suspension.

The interior is finished. I got all five screens done today and all of the t molding "unpuckered" and glued down. Now all we need are the curtains!
Got the clutch adjusted and hope to get the new shocks on tomorrow.Took it for a spin around the block and I'm hearing a vibration or rumbling sound above 25 mph. Checked the fluid level in the rgb's and they are ok. Brand new Hankook radials. Any ideas what I should check next?

Thanks Philip.... I actually just got an email back from her. I had inquired about shipping costs. My wife & I have been looking at her curtains trying to decide if we should do it or not. Do they look as nice in person as they do from her website?
