MY 1967 Splittie Camper

Hello from Lisbon, Ohio...... I have been lurking around several forums and sites and thought I would join up and share my Bus. It was shipped to England with North America Export options and the conversion built there... The original owner shipped it to Oregon, where it stayed until i bought it last year..... In my opinion it is 99% O/G.... The original carb and fuel pump was in box under seat. original gas heater etc still with it.... there is a couple of interior camping pieces missing, but not to bad.......My research with Oregon DMV, It appears i am the 3rd owner....... Not sure how many events i can get to but will be at Jim's again this year, as it is next door...... hope to hear some comments guys and will share some details

Thanks for the Welcome...... As indicated this bus was sold new in England..... The type of conversion is the next major quest....... With talking with the boys in UK, we conclude that it is either a Danbury or Canterbury Pitt.......... these are both somewhat rare........ the CP was discontinued in 1969 after Peter Pitt's death....... The Danbury is far more rarer as records in UK indicate only two (2) from the sixties have survived..... This is from David Eccles book VW CAMPER- THE INSIDE STORY....... This is a MUST book for any Camper owner!!!!!!!! which ever it is , it is a WIN WIN for me........ I did talk with VW dealer in UK that sold the vehicle new and he confirmed it had to be one or the other as that was the only ones they used during 1966 / 1967......... Welcome. Hope you can make it to some events. That's a really nice looking bus. The material in those English tops seem really nice. They seem a lot nicer than the canvas tops we generally see. Is that stuff as durable?

Also, that Eccles book is a good read. Also his "specification" guide. Dave Cunningham recommended that to me. Money well spent.

BEER ??????? to a VW " FAMILY" outing and what kind shall i bring? preference? other than the alcohol type....... That might be good time to clean out my garage fridge.......

With regards to six-volt on canvas......... I think it is more durable than what we're use to..... it seems to have some vinyl in it........ m8's in England say it is just like Sails breathable yet very strong........ mine as it appears had not been cleaned from 1967 until I did it last year
