The transmission on the old Westy started popping out of 4th gear earlier the year so its time to get it rebuilt and ready for the upcoming camping season.
Reg and I pulled the engine and tranny a couple weeks ago and dropped it off at Jim's Custom VW in Columbiana for a complete overhaul.
Loaded and on its way to Jim's in Columbiana. Should be ready in 2 to 4 weeks.

Got the tranny back from Jim's on Saturday. It basically needed a complete rebuild.

I like that jack jig, I might have to copy it. Do you have it patented?

That didn't seem to take long to get it back. Good service?
Great job Ken and Reg.

The turn around time was about 2 months. It depends on how busy he is. He has a complete shop and also does engine rebuilds.
Jim has a reputation for doing good work.

The engine is bolted in place. I've been letting Reg do most of the work. I'm just hangin' around in case he has a questions. So far every thing is going well. This is very good experience and he seems to be enjoying it.
While the bus is off the ground Reg is doing a complete rear brake job. The shoes, wheel cylinders, hard lines and hardware is all new.

Hey, I'm spoiled. Bruce has ruined me by raising my expectations. Let's see more pictures.
