Re: KI 2017 Q&A

Hello all. I just wanted to invite, as I have in the past, for any westsiders that would like to caravan up as a group. I have talked to a few people and seemed like some people were interested. Wanted to see if anyone else was interested. Any ideas about where or what time and also who would ...

Re: 78 Bay - newbie member, newbie owner, beginner

Its been a crazy week but I wanted to give a bit of an update on Tootsie.

I went out to meet Bruce last Sat. at his shop...WOW what a shop, and Bus 1 and Bus 2 are awesome, but Bruce is the best! He was sooooo patient with me and that damn rotten Tire Rod. After a quick trip to the local hardware ...

Re: 78 Bay - newbie member, newbie owner, beginner

Hey Chuck...nice to meet you! Your reputation precedes you :)

I live in Bay Village so we are in close proximity. When would you be available for a tune up? I am available anytime but out of town next weekend 22-25th. I would really like to spend some time with you if you are up for it, so I can ...

Re: 78 Bay - newbie member, newbie owner, beginner

well I'm back. I ventured underneath. I took the pan off but I can't find the brake light switch. I see two black things with wires connected to them but they weren't underneath the pan and they are pretty corroded. They have what I would describe as caps on them so I can't see how the wires are ...

Re: 78 Bay - newbie member, newbie owner, beginner

Ok thanks again guys.

I'll take the bulbs back and get the 1157 and 1156, and also pick up a 12v test light. Anything else that is a must have in the garage at the moment?

I tried to give Chuck a call and it said VM not set up. He may have thought my San Diego number was a telemarketer and with ...

Re: 78 Bay - newbie member, newbie owner, beginner

Just got back from Advanced Auto Parts...here is my bounty. Did I get the right kind of Voltmeter? I'm going to venture underneath tomorrow after work and check out this brake light switch aka "the creature"

Bruce would you be the man to do what was suggested earlier? comprehensive inspection ...

Re: 78 Bay - newbie member, newbie owner, beginner

Got some photos. She runs great as far I can tell. She shifts well, starts up no issues, sounds good, etc, but then again I have no idea what I'm looking for. Husband has owned some older VWs and he says it runs well. He doesn't know much about cars either though. The only things are she does smell ...

Re: 78 Bay - newbie member, newbie owner, beginner

Anyone know a good phone number or way to contact Bruce, Chuck, or Dualport?

I read about the brake light switch on the Master Cylinder and was ready to go under the bus but figured I better ask some questions before I get in over my head...literally. Is the brake light switch an actual switch ...

78 Bay - newbie member, newbie owner, beginner

"Tootsie" - my first bus. I have never owned a classic car and basically have "never" done anything to any vehicle up until now. This is gonna be painful but I am so excited to learn and I am completely in love with my 1978 Bay. Tonight was a first for me, I know this is going to sound ridiculous ...
