Dennis was looking for a replacement roof for the Double Door Panel he is restoring. His roof was badly dented and beyond repair. I had stripped just about all the parts I could from the old 64 Deluxe parked outside the shop and it was ready for the scrap yard. Dennis noticed the roof was pretty rusty, but it was straight so he thought he could use it and I said "go for it". It took us about 4 hours to remove it and we hauled it over to the body shop where his Panel is being worked on.
I hope this works out well for Dennis and can't wait to see the finished product.

I hate to repost, but how much do you want to cut the front clip off for me? The whole nose and windshield. I always pictured making a desk with that as the front of a desk. I AM serious.

Thanks for the interest Howie but I'm probably going to need the nose if I go with the "Beach Buggy" project. Then I could go beach racing with the guys on Kelleys Island. 
For right now I need to do some frame repairs, install the front beam and transaxle and make a rolling chassis out of it. If anyone is interested in any of the other sheet metal, let me know.
BTW Bill, It's an early '64 walk-thru and there is a spare tire well on the left side of the rear deck.

I renamed this the "Beach Buggy Project" beacause that's where it seems to be headed.
The rest of the body, except the front seat frames, have been removed from the frame and I started to repair the rusted out portion of the frame so I can tow it around with the Cushman. This experience is a great way to learn how these busses were built and how well they were engineered. It's good learning tool.
Below is the start of the frame repair using bolted 1/4" thick steel plate. It's not even close to "California Quality" but should be stout and once it's welded to CKWA code, it may pass the test.

Nice job Ken. Miester Road is obviously the place to be! Can't wait to see it.
