Got him off to the body shop for more prep and paint. They came to pick him up on Monday, work has already started. Everything seems to be going well so far. I dropped off the primer and sealer on Wednesday.

He is primed! Last week I received photos and I stopped at the shop yesterday to drop off some paint. I got to see it in person and everything is progressing nicely.

Next step is to wet sand, lay some glazing over some pitted metal, and put a coat of color to check for low spots.

The work is all being done by Adrian and his crew at Mi Casa Body Shop on W.140th. It’s close by so it’s easy to drop in. They are all very nice and easy to work with.

Here are photos to share. Look closely, Gunther is resting next to his friend Buttercup who is getting a new dash installed.

Looks great! Is it going to be too nice to take camping when it's done?

No way. He will be continue to be used as a camper, as designed and intended. He’s too young for retirement. 😁

Made a stop in to see progress today. I dropped off the finish paint as well. All three colors are set and ready for application.

Everything is moving along very nicely. Adrian put a coat of red on it to accentuate the flaws to see where some final glazing and sanding is still needed. He going over it in great detail.

Here are some photos showing progress. I love the red. It’s so much better than the bright primary red it was before.
