They needed replaced anyways, the risers were missing and they had a bunch of holes and dents. Luckily I found someone with a whole exhaust system for sale. He sold me the exhaust system, a whole FI system, and a set of engine tins for less than what 2 new heater boxes would have cost me...

Too soon for me to jump in with my 2 cents worth, I'll let my minions get you up to speed and then I can tell you how you're doing it wrong...

Just listed my RX-7 for sale on craigslist

Whew life hit me hard and fast. Didn't get to touch the bus much during July or the first half of August. Illness, vacation, more illness, and an unexpected death that really hit me hard.

Ended up giving away my RX-7.


Any advice on how to clean out/refurbish a gas tank? I'm getting mixed reports from people - POR-15, no sealers at all, etc.

Hydrochloric (muriatic) acid would work well!

I found a radiator shop in Akron to boil it out for me for ~$100. Bought POR-15 Metal Ready and Sealer for $57 shipped. If the cost surpassed $200, I probably would have just bought a new tank for $300.

Ｉam going to have a great time trying to get this back together. My phone crapped out on me and I lost all the pictures I took of the vacuum and fuel lines

Contact Dan (Leakoil Member Name: Lurch). He works in Elyria for a glass/radiator shop. He cleaned out the gas tank for my split window and it turned out great, and it was pretty cost efficient from what I can recall.
