Got an hour in tonight. Have other stuff to do so Couldn't work as long as i would like, plus i had to run to get new fuel line. I picked up some fuel injection line rated for use with ethanol. $50 dollar lesson learned.

Thats what i like about this site, guys like W5, Chuck, and toolbox will just tell it like it is, without the sugar coated fluff.

Granted it is not the stuff TB said to get, BUT as long as it gets me through till next summer i will be a crappy hamper. I will ultimately get the multi fuel hose for next year.

I also looked through my misc. stuff and found the arm for the fuel tap, but nothing else. I used a cable stop and it seems to have worked.

Stupid question time. Is the position it is in now the main or reserve? It appears to be a VW and not a WW if that makes a difference

It is "up" if you cannot tell.

and again thx toolbox for pic and guidance

PS the pic is before i changed fuel line.

I think forward is reserve,if I remember correctly,I do remember having to put a bow in the cable(like the clutch cable) in order to get full travel of the lever. In other words, don't cut it to short (like I did) before you are sure you get full travel of the lever.

Time today 2 hours. New total 141 hours

Just finished chasing down the rest of the cab wires. I would say that i am at 97% original now. 3% due to the flasher relay.

Took longer than i had expected, but i knew i was in for a treat when i saw all the fuses were red. It looks like the PO just unplugged most of the wires at fuse block for something, and just plugged them back in wherever.

I know the factory wiper motor cannot handle 12 volts (?), did they make a 12v replacement motor or will it require a step down converter?

Never used one as I don't use wipers, just Rain-X. I think that's what you'd need though to do it "correctly".
No way this is the right way...

The WW armature is a quick and inexpensive fix, you should R&R the wiper anyway.

RainX is great too.

It is a "fix" that a Samba member came up with to hold the stud. Read a bunch of eric&barb posts for some of their "correct" ways of doing things.
