I went to Kirk's yesterday... I picked up a helper on the way. Mike joined in on the fun and helped with the master cylinder install. Thanks Mike!

After the install, bleeding the lines, test drive, bleeding the lines some more etc... it was good to go! I drove him home yesterday. :D The engine ran great, other then some electrical issues, and cleaning I think I am ready to go for the season.

Here is a pic of the master cylinder install. It is definiately not as pretty and clean under my bus as Bruce's but then again... who's is?

Nice job. Dual MC looks good. Now I know why Mike wasn't home when I rolled by his place yesterday!

So, I am starting to dig into the electrical... I am looking for the wiring diagram for 1960. The Samba seems to be missing that year. I tried printing the 1959 thinking it would be close, but I was told I should not go by that.

So, if anyone knows of other locations where I can find it, or has a one I can copy, let me know.

Do you have 6 fuses or 8 fuses in your fusebox?

What is in there now is a hack job from a previous owner... But the owner's manual says it should be a single 6 fuse panel.

You can use the 59 diagram without issues. In your mind rotate the fuse block 180° (headlights on the left side) and all will be good, VW for some reason put it in the diagrams wrong. H

I will try to get a picture of the block installed in my truck for you.

It looks like the big difference is the headlight fusing, on the earlier bus it appears the low beams are fused and the high beams are not. Look at your booger fuse panel and see if there are fat yellow and fat yellow/black wires attached. If not, use the earlier schematic, if so, use the later ski. Pull your cover panel back, post pictures and we'll give suggestions.

Seems to me when we looked at the 59 diagram she had a few weeks ago, it was wrong. 61 diagram didn't start until chaise number 614000, and her m plate is 600000.

I am thinking she may not have the USA only diagram.

Marla check to see if your schematic has the bullet indicators on front, if not download the 59 with bullet indicators.
